All three games in the series were later packaged together as part of Metroid Prime Trilogy on Wii, and many were expecting that game to get ported to Switch. The long-troubled Metroid Prime 4 is supposedly going to be the lynchpin chapter in Samus Arans first-person adventures, wrapping up her escapades in a final definitive way. Announced at E3 2017, Metroid Prime 4 has been a proverbial white whale for Metroid fans for a long time now. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption originally released on the GameCube and Wii, respectively. The studio has been hard at work on Metroid Prime 4 for several years now, and updates on the title have been minimal since the project was restarted from scratch back in 2019. A lot of the work on Metroid Prime Remastered was handled by subcontractors like Iron Galaxy and GameSim (where Garcellano worked), but it's hard to say whether Retro Studios would have the time to handle additional remasters. That would seem to bode well for additional remasters, but it's hard to say for certain. Metroid Prime 4 is actually alive and in development - though well probably get that rumored Metroid Prime 1 remaster/remake before hand.
METROID PRIME 4 UPDATE UPDATE
Yes, it's perhaps the most significant update we've got in some time. Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced at E3 2017, and was reportedly in the works at Bandai Namco. Metroid Prime Remastered has received universal praise since its release, and physical copies have been hard to come by at their MSRP. Try not to get too excited now, but the Metroid Prime 4 developer Retro Studios has just updated its banner on Twitter.
